Eleanor Noel

Eleanor Kanoa Noel, 79, of McLeansboro, Ill., died Jan. 31, 2013, at Hamilton Memorial Nursing Center. Born in Puna, she was a retired corporal with the Marine Corps and manager at Kmart in Chicago.

Funeral services with military honors were at Mound City Cemetery in McLeansboro, Ill.

She is survived by husband, Robert Noel of McLeansboro, Ill.; son, Robert Noel of Oxnard, Calif.; daughters, Leona (Mark) Whiting-Novack of South Elgin, Ill., Darlene (Gary) Hammann of Peyton, Colo., Donna (Timothy) Johnson of McLeanboro, Ill., Lynnetta (David) Fleck of Union, Ill.; brothers, William (Dorothy) Kanoa of Lawton, Okla., Albert Canoa, Lawrence (Elizabeth) Kanoa and Charles (Shirley) Kanoa, all of Hilo; sisters, Beatrice DeLa Cruz and Mildred (George) Yamanouchi, both of Honolulu, Jeanne (Larry) Nases of Ookala, Carol (Robert) Oshiro of Hilo, Florence Fukui and Joyce (Mariano) Alfiler, both of Papaaloa; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
